   新乡重夫(Shigeo Shingo)
 新乡重夫出生于1909年,日本工程师,工业工程(IE)领域世界著名的品质管理专家,著名的丰田生产体系创建人。在品质管理方面作出了重大贡献,在美国出版了不少有关品质方面的著作。他还根据自己20年事业生涯中的系统性方法和精心笔记,着有18部书和无数管理文章。他指出,“零损坏”就是品质要求的最高极限。被尊称为“纠错之父”。他的四种重要品质管理的理念包括:

 Poka Yoke(波卡纠偏):最初叫“防呆”系统。新乡重夫根据其长期从事现场质量改进的丰富经验,首创了Poka Yoke的概念,并将其发展成为用以获得零缺陷,最终免除质量检验的工具。这些工具最初叫“傻瓜工具”,新乡意识到,这样命名可能会令许多员工不快。于是,他用日语造了一个术语叫“波卡纠偏”,意为“防错”或“不失误”。波卡纠偏措施就是能防错,或使人一眼看出错误的机制。

 三种检测方法:①断式检测:指把次品从合格品中挑出来。这种方法有时也叫“质检”。新乡重夫认同大家的观点,认为质检不是有效的质量管理方法,应慎用。②信息式检测:指运用检测中得来的数据控制生产流程,防止次品出现。新乡重夫担心,传统的统计式质量管理(SQC)不能在生产之后即时检查,因此不能提供最好的信息来确定质量问题的起因并用于将来的防错。③溯源式检测:指在事件发生之前就确认好是否存在进行高质量生产所必需的条件。这就需要在生产之前检查员工的操作条件,而非在生产之后再检查。新乡重夫认为,溯源式检测是一种理想的质控手段,因为在生产流程开始运作之前就能获得有关反馈。

 快速准备法:新乡重夫指出,设备调试分内部调试和外部调试两大部分。内部调试必须关机进行。外部调试则可在机器运行中操作。这就是他的一分钟更换模具(single minute exchange of dies,简称:SMED)方式的基础,如果将大家都认为只能通过内部调试进行的各种程序变为外部调试,即能大大提高运作效率。

 零缺陷质控:新乡重夫认为,用溯源式检测及波卡纠偏系统可以实现零缺陷,并举出松下公司的静岗洗衣机分厂作为例证。
