</script>Brazil government has started to enforce their standard for plug and cord.Therefore, all electric products, both low and high voltage, must comply with the following standard.
Standard
-NBR6147 = IEC60884-1: 1994 and amendments 1:1994 and 2:1995.
-Elements affected are PLUG and CORD.
-Plug must be 4.00mm Swiss round pin with insulator (see drawing attached)
-Both items must be certified.
-Both items must have the certified agency logo printed
The plug and cord must be approved by the local Brazilian agency or by an approved agency or plug/cord be purchased from an approved supplier.
Implementation
All products entering the country by January 1, 2003 must comply with the above standard.
Approved Agencies
If plug and/or cord have been approved by any of the following agencies, then the local Brazilian agency would accept their test report as valid for certification.

AENOR
CEBEC
Approved Suppliers
